Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT)
If you are looking to address symptoms associated with hormone imbalances such as menopause, andropause, pre-menstrual syndrome, dysmenorrhea, menorrhagia, and post-natal depression, arrange a private consultation with us to discuss how BHRT could help.
BHRT is only available privately and differs from treatments offered by the NHS in that it is 100% identical to the chemical structure of hormones found in the human body and consistent with the body’s normal biochemistry.
Dr Eccleston and our Nurse Prescriber, Hannah Alden, have personally trained and work closely with Dr Marian Gluck, who is one of the world’s leading pioneers in BHRT.
You can check our hormone questionnaire to see if you are symptomatic and look at the consultation process for pricing and more information.
Weight Management
If you have changed your diet and increased your activity levels and are not seeing the results you desire, you may be eligible for clinically approved treatments to help you achieve a healthy weight.
Injectable Weight Management Regime
Liraglutide (also known as Saxenda) can be prescribed privately to help with weight management at the discretion of a doctor, in association with a diet and exercise programme.
Liraglutide is a daily subcutaneous injection that makes patients feel fuller and, therefore satisfied with less food.
It also reduces the speed at which the stomach empties, making patients treated with Liraglutide crave food less, and it also improves the response to the patient’s insulin.
A consultation with one of our doctors or nurse prescribers is straightforward, and you will be given an initial 15-minute appointment to discuss your weight issues in detail.
The practitioner will weigh you, calculate your BMI and check your blood pressure. They may take a blood sample to measure level indicators for cholesterol, liver, kidney and blood sugars.

Well-person health screening
Vit D & B12 injections
Most people with vitamin D deficiency are asymptomatic. However, if you’re exhausted, your bones hurt, you have muscle weakness or mood changes, that’s an indication that something may be abnormal with your body.
Symptoms of vitamin D deficiency may include:
1. Fatigue
2. Not sleeping well
3. Bone pain or achiness
4. Depression or feelings of sadness
5. Hair loss
6. Muscle weakness
7. Loss of appetite
8. Getting sick more easily
9. Pale skin
Vitamin B12 deficiency anaemia
is a condition in which your body does not have enough healthy red blood cells due to a lack (deficiency) of vitamin B12. This vitamin is needed to make red blood cells that carry oxygen to all parts of your body. Without enough red blood cells, your tissues and organs don’t get enough oxygen. Without enough oxygen, your body can’t work as well.
It’s time to see a medical professional if these symptoms sound familiar. They may do a blood test to check your vitamin D and B12 levels to see if they are within normal range. Depending on the results, you may be suitable for an injection to boost your vitamin levels.

Alternative Baby Vaccine Schedule
Vaccination is the most important thing we can do to protect ourselves and our children against ill health. They prevent up to 3 million deaths worldwide every year. Since vaccines were introduced in the UK, diseases like smallpox, polio and tetanus that used to kill or disable millions of people are either gone or seen very rarely.
Diseases like measles and diphtheria have been reduced by up to 99.9% since their vaccines were introduced.
However, if people stop having vaccines, it’s possible for infectious diseases to spread again quickly.
Parents sometimes raise concerns regarding the NHS baby schedule and wish to investigate an alternative schedule. Following a consultation with one of our nurses, we can advise parents on a vaccination schedule more suited to their requirements.
Health visitor/child development services
Our Nurse Prescriber, Hannah, is also a trained Health Visitor, able to support and advise parents who have new babies up to the school age of 5 on a range of issues which may affect the health, well-being and development of your child and you as a family.
If you would like to book a 30-minute appointment or would like further information about Health visiting services from our practice, please complete the contact form or give the practice a call.
Wart And Verruca Treatment
The NHS no longer offers any treatments for warts and verrucae.
We use a revolutionary technology to treat skin lesions, including warts and verrucae. The Swift system uses microwave energy, delivered through a special probe applied to the skin to treat the affected tissue. Treatment is fast, simple, easy and yet incredibly effective.
How does it Work
Swift is over 80% effective at permanently removing warts and verrucae. This technology delivers a precise, highly controlled energy dose to the treatment area through a special probe. The probe is placed on the treatment area for several cycles as required.
The microwave energy helps to stimulate an immune response, which kills the virus that produces warts and verrucae. This machine is unique in its approach, ensuring the virus is killed and the lesions don’t return! Other wart and verruca treatments do not impact the virus directly, only the lesion; therefore, the lesions are more likely to return.
How many treatments will I need?
Most patients will see a full result after 3-4 treatments. Each treatment’s effectiveness can depend on age, and how long the lesion has been there, so the number of treatments required can differ from patient to patient.
How long does treatment take?
Treatment is quick and easy. The probe is placed on each treatment area several times for a few seconds. Generally, treatment won’t last any longer than a few minutes.
How far apart will treatments be?
Treatments will be 4-6 weeks apart.
How quickly will I see an improvement?
You may start to see an improvement after 2-4 weeks following your first treatment. The results will not be immediate. A full course will be required for complete removal.
Does it hurt?
Like many treatments for skin lesions, some minor discomfort may be experienced. It is not uncommon for patients to feel a sharp pinching sensation during treatment.

Hayfever treatment
Allergic reactions to pollen can cause sneezing, a runny nose, fatigue and even sickness as your immune system fights to remove this from your body.
For some, the hay fever season can last for many weeks and can be extremely inconvenient and miserable.
There are many over-the-counter remedies, from antihistamine tablets and eye drops to nasal sprays, but for some, they simply do not offer an effective solution.
If you have tried and tested these over-the-counter remedies and your symptoms are severe, you can arrange an appointment with one of our practice nurses to discuss prescription treatment options.
In severe instances, you may be suitable for receiving a steroid injection, which is shown to help reduce and suppress symptoms significantly.
Not every patient is suitable for this treatment option, so a consultation with a nurse is required before treatment.
